CLINTONS SAX SOLD AT AUCTION FOR AIDS RESEARCH
Washington post

Bill Clinton’s saxophone and Robert Pattinsons “lips” were helped raise money to help people fight AIDS. Clintons sax being sold at Cannes Film Festival for $180,000 while two kisses from the Twilight star were auctioned at $28,000 each. Sharon Stone hosted the event on Thursday night and urged people to give generously and forget about the economy for one night. The proceeds of the event go to the American Foundation for AIDS research that also is lined with HIV research. This auction was more popular then any other with more A stars and a record of $10 million raised. Clinton quoted that he was at the event with people who show life lessons and spill life stories as a living. He told people that you don’t need movies or novels to make a story, yet everyone has their own and every time someone dies of AIDS in the world, that light made has disappeared. Other items at the auction were a Fiat 500 for $111,000 and a Karl Lagerfeld guitar case filled with champagne for $42,000. Many famous singers sang and entertained guests at the event and dedicated songs to those with AIDS.

word mistake at face value- washington post

Donald trump who is the head of the USA Miss American Pageant talks to people about how the “mouth has to do with the beauty queens Barbie doll looks”. Mostly people who watch the show take track of the lovely women, but that doesn’t mean that they pay any attention to what the girl may be saying. Carrie Prejean, talks about how people make assumptions on archetypes. And when looks and archetypes don’t match up, it comes with a different out put. For example, when the druggie looking bum in the class turns out to be the smartest one. People are going crazy over certain responses that Carrie had even though she wasn’t even the overall winner. When Perez asked her about same sex marriage, she had a very conservative stance on it which many were very surprised about. The words that came from her mouth caused a “sucker punch” as they called it. Edwards another runner up talks about the publicity of her memoir and talks about how her baby is not her biggest concern causing more controversy. This article mainly just goes beyond about how appearances can be very deceiving, yet they sometimes leave people speechless.

about me #1

So today is mothers day and its absolutely beautiful outside! Considering that it has rained alot the past two weeks, today was definately a plus. I went out to breakfast with my family and it was kinda lame. We went to silver diner with my grandparents and we had some crazy server who called himself "biscuit boy". ANYWAYS. I woke up this morning pretty upset that the caps lost. SUCHH A BUMMMERRRR. If Malkin plays well in the next game and crosby picks up the game, then looks like the caps will be sol. Ovechkin slacked a bit last night, and backstrom definately picked up his game, but that last goal by the caps was totally put together by mike green. He's my favorite. well game 6 looks like itll be on monday away unfortunately, hopefully we can win that. On another note, im going to enjoy the weather.

This week I read about the Wizard of Oz’s Mickey Carroll (the munchkin) died. At the age of 89, he died in his sleep at his own home. Although he had heart problems and had a peacemaker placed in him in February, his caretaker Linda Dodge said he was a healthy man. Carroll was one of the more than 100 children casted in the movie and made $125 a week for interviews during the movie filming. Carroll also did many fundraisers for “Oz-related” events after the movie was filmed. He has always said how he loves how his roll makes people think of their child hood. Carroll was born in 1919 and grew up in St. Louis with a twin sister and four other siblings in a Italian neighborhood. Throughout his life he loved theatre and worked in clubs to earn money. He also did live radio ads and appeared in shows with Mae West, although the muchkin roll was what made him popular. In the movie, he is the munchkin who escorted Dorothy to emerald city. In 2007, he received a star on the Hollywood walk of fame with the other munchkins for this small roll.
