week one- election post

Well, for me, choosing a political party that i prefer, is very difficult. Many would guess that I am a Democrat, yet now-a-days i think I'm leaning toward the Republican Party. At the beginning of the Democratic convention, i was all for Obama. I thought he was an awesome family guy, related to majority of the US population, and best of all related to the young voters of today. Yet, after McCain's Republican convention, i realized he was more of the type of guy I wanted to win presidency. He, unlike Obama, has ALOT of experience, and is also a great family man who I think would steer our country in the right direction.

Obamas views-

Abortion: Obama favors an individuals right to make decisions about abortion.
Immigration: He supports immigration reform that includes a path to citizenshp rights for those who qualify. He also supports secure borders.
Taxes: With health care goals, Obama does report that some increase of revenue would be necessary, and plans to allow tax cuts for the wealthy to expire.
Iraq: Opposed Iraqi war and would seek to bring troops out of Iraq as soon as possible if elected. Energy: Raise fuel efficiency standards in cars, cap greenhouse gas emissions, and supports investment in renewable fuels.
Gay marraige: open to gay marriage

McCains views-

Abortion: Opposes abortion
Immigration: Wants a comprehensible immigration reform bill allowing illegal immigrants to earn legal status through guest worker program.
Taxes: Against tax cuts, wants to lower spending, and keep tax levels steady.
Iraq: Supporter of Iraqi war and a backer of the troop surge.
Energy: Wants to cap system for greenhouse gas.
Gay marraige: opposed to gay marraige

I think it's funny that you would say McCain is a great family man because he started an affair woth his current wife before he was even divorced to his previous wife. Other than that, your blog looks good! and your pretty good at fockey so...

I agree that after watching the Republican convention i also saw McCain as a man who i would like to be our president over Obama because he seemed he would be such a strong leader. His experience in the military and job as a senator do give him alot of experience, but he does not have that much more experience than Obama. I sometimes fear that McCains history of being a very militaristic man and someone who is not afraid of going to war could possibly involve our country in more conflicts than necessary. I recently watched Obama speak on 60 minutes and it made me like him a whole lot more than McCain who was also on 60 minutes. McCains choice of Palin also makes me like Obama more.

You did a great job on presenting each candidates platforms, but i agree with shannon on the whole "family man" thing. McCain in fact did have an affair with his current wife. I learned it on 10 most sexy political scandals (: but other than that super job!

hails!!1st off.ill miss you tomorrow in english.have fun on your field trip!2nd.great blog.3rd.i like how you had all the political platforms laid out for not one,but BOTH canidates!political views wise,i would have to say that i am leaning more towards the obama side.(not caseu im black!l0l.i think i made myself clear is ash's blog.haha).but if i were to vote for a pres. i would have to prob. vote for mccain, becaue he is way more experienced!i do however, disagree with mccain letting the war in iraq go on. he should stop it and bring home our troops as soon as possible if he is elected.i mean yeah, thats what troops are for, to protect our country and all.but dont you think that they have suffered enough, and all their relatives they have at home?i think that the war should be ended immediately.i am for obamas abortion, gay rights, war, and hybrid car views.(hybrids are sweeeeeeeeet!) :) but overall mccain is a goody in my eyes.*ash*

I think you have every right to support McCain, too bad he's going to keel over in three months. Don't you feel like America should have a president that is going to live to see the repercussions of his policies?
